Our Service Philosophy

Blaney McMurtry is not like other firms. We’ve charted a course that’s different. We’re trusted advisors, not just legal technicians. What sets us apart from many firms and other lawyers is our track record in actually working within this philosophy.

We recognize that in addition to the requisite legal knowledge and expertise, in order for there to be a good working relationship, it is necessary for a law firm and its client to have a compatible work ethic and style.

Keeping this in mind, it is our practice to identify a specific partner within the firm to be responsible for the client’s work, liaising with the client or its in-house counsel, in all matters that arise during the conduct of the client’s business.

In certain situations, the legal work may be done by a junior lawyer or clerk, or with assistance from a lawyer in a related practice area, bearing in mind the nature and complexity of the issues involved. The client is kept informed at all times when a decision is taken to have another member of the firm involved, and the client’s input is sought and encouraged before any such decision is made.
