Brinley Evans obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1989 and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto Law School in 1992. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1994. In 1996, Ms. Evans joined the firm of Blaney McMurtry LLP as an associate, where she is currently practising.
Her practice is restricted to personal injury law and family law. Ms. Evans has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario including the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. She has argued appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal, and has also appeared on matters before the Federal Court of Canada and various tribunals. Ms. Evans has spoken publicly on a wide variety of subjects, including the recent changes to the law involving same sex couples and institutional liability for sexual assault and abuse.
