Crawford Spratt, a senior partner in the law firm of Blaney McMurtry LLP, is a leading Canadian counsel on matters relating to the Canadian insurance industry with over twenty five years of providing advice to life & health and property & casualty insurers and re-insurers, and insurance intermediaries, on all aspects of their businesses in Canada.

Crawford assists in the incorporation of domestic Canadian insurers, the entry of foreign insurers into Canada and the licensing thereof. He works closely with the Canadian federal and provincial insurance regulators to ensure that his clients' regulatory issues are resolved favourably and quickly. Crawford assists his clients in meeting the ever increasing compliance requirements of the Canadian federal and provincial insurance regulators. He works with boards of directors of Canadian companies and the Canadian Chief Agents of foreign companies operating in Canada to assist them in meeting the standards expected of them by the Canadian federal and provincial insurance regulators.

Crawford draws on the insurance mergers and acquisition expertise at Blaney McMurtry and its experienced insurance litigation and coverage practitioners to ensure that his clients are fully served in all aspects of their business in Canada.

Crawford received a B.A. from Glendon College, York University in 1973, an LL.B from the University of Windsor in 1977, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1979.

On a personal note, Crawford has been active as a coach and executive in minor hockey in Toronto for more than twenty years.
