James Edney is a member of the firm's Personal Services Group, focusing on Family Law. Jim obtained his law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1991 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1993. Jim has extensive experience in dealing with all aspects of family law including:

• separation agreements;
• contested divorces;
• property and financial issues arising from marriage breakdown;
• custody and access issues; and
• marriage contracts.

Jim has represented clients in family law matters in all levels of Court in Ontario (including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal). Extensive experience has also been demonstrated in Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) including arbitrations, mediations and negotiation of settlements out of court.

Jim is a trustee of the Metro Toronto Lawyers Association.
