Reeva was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979 after obtaining her B.A. and LL.B from University of Manitoba. She was awarded the gold medal in her law school class and received numerous academic awards.
Reeva's practice includes both commercial and defence insurance litigation.
Her commercial litigation practice focuses on banking, bankruptcy and insolvency, PPSA issues, construction and commercial leasing. Reeva represents various lenders, commercial landlords, developers, public institutions and trustees in bankruptcy.
Reeva also has extensive experience in handling a wide variety of insurance issues including products liability, occupiers liability, personal injury, and disability coverage.
Recent decisions in the Court of Appeal have included Canada Trust v. Sugarman wherein Reeva successfully argued for Canada Trust that set off provisions in an accounting partnership could not apply in the event of a bankruptcy, and a recent decision on behalf of Hydro One wherein Reeva successfully argued a statutory interpretation of the Power Corporation Act.
