As a partner in Blaney McMurtry's corporate commercial law group, Stanley Kugelmass provides corporate and business law advice to a broad base of clients, including multi-national companies, entrepreneurs, private owner-managed corporations and financial institutions.
Stan's practice involves a variety of business transactions including acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings of businesses, financing transactions, complex contract and business enterprise matters, and technology and e-commerce issues. Stan has assisted clients involved in a wide spectrum of industries including insurance, manufacturing, distribution, computer technology, business services and financial services.
Stan takes pride in having maintained a professional relationship with a number of clients over many years, providing individual and business clients with legal counsel and advice regarding all aspects of business, including shareholder and partner relations, succession and tax oriented planning and transactions, and negotiating and drafting of commercial agreements.
Stan has also been active in Blaney McMurtry's corporate insurance group, serving as lead counsel in connection with a number of significant merger and acquisition transactions for multi-national insurance companies.
Stan has been active in firm management. He is currently the co-chair of the firm’s technology and conflicts committees.
Stan is an active participant in community affairs, particularly in connection with services and supports for people with a developmental disability. He has served on the board and as Chair of Reena, a community organization dedicated to the needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities, and their families. He has also served as co-chair of the Toronto Developmental Services Planning and Co-ordination Council and as a member of the Provincial Network on Development Services. Stan is currently chair of the Toronto Jewish Federation Task Force on Inclusion and is a board member of the Toronto Chapter of the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University.
