Profile

A partner with Blaney McMurtry LLP’s Insurance Practice Group, Marcus’ practice focuses on opinion, trial and appeal counsel work involving insurance coverage issues in commercial and environmental liability, errors & omissions, financial responsibility and commercial property lines. Frequently consulted for advice and representation in cross-border coverage cases, Marcus also chairs the Canadian Law and Cross-Border issues sub-committee of the Defense Research Institute, Inc.’s Insurance Law Committee.

He co-authors the annually updated Annotated Commercial General Liability Policy, has assumed responsibility for updates to Property Damage Claims under Commercial Insurance Policies originally authored by Richard H. Krempulec, Q.C. and is the current chair of the Canadian Defence Lawyers association’s Annual Insurance Symposium.

Marcus volunteers his time as a resource to the Insurance Institute as well as to the Black Law Students Association of Canada and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers.
