Blaney McMurtry partner David Ma was on the faculty of the Inaugural Cloud Computing Law program presented by Federated Press in Toronto on March 30 and 31, 2011. The program brought together Canada's leading IT lawyers and in-house counsel from top companies to discuss the risks and legal pitfalls of cloud computing, which is the provision of web-based services located on remote computers that allow businesses to use software and hardware managed by third parties. David lectured on Establishing Exit Scenarios, a key component of cloud computing contracts. He talked about how users can ensure continuity of their operations, and the preservation and retrieval of data, and provided a checklist of issues to cover dealing with exit/termination.
