Amy’s commercial real estate practice focuses mainly on real estate financing, acquisition and sales, construction projects, condominium and commercial centre developments and commercial leasing.
Amy has extensive experience representing international and domestic financial institutions and multinational commercial real estate developers, which included acting on the development project for the largest Asian shopping mall in North America.
Prior to joining Blaney McMurtry LLP, Amy practiced at a boutique law firm in Toronto specializing in overseas investments and articled with a top-ranked Canadian corporate law firm in Calgary, Alberta. She also worked in-house in the corporate law department for a multinational energy company in Calgary.
Amy received her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University and her JD from the University of Alberta. While attending law school, she was the Co-Chair of the Articling Committee, an elected official representative of the Law Students Association Recruitment Committee, appointed student executive representative for the CBA and was an actress for the Faculty of Law show.
Amy is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, the Toronto Lawyers Association and Toronto CREW. Amy was the founding member and treasurer for the Diversity Section of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) in Alberta, which was the first Diversity Section to ever launch under the CBA nationally. She was also the Chair of the Mentorship Committee of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers – Western Chapter. Amy has been called to the Bar of Ontario and the Bar of Alberta. Amy is fluent in Cantonese.
