Mahdi Hussein

Mahdi represents insurers in a variety of matters including losses arising from construction defects as well as professional negligence claims involving engineers, financial advisors, accountants, and brokers.

He is routinely retained by insurers, corporations, directors and officers to advance their claims in a zealous, practical, and principled manner. 

Mahdi also brings previous litigation experience in cross-border disputes arising from a failure to provide or pay for goods, franchise litigation, domain name protection, construction, and commercial lease disputes to his practice.

While completing his law degree, Mahdi participated in the Intellectual Property Clinic at Osgoode Hall Law School, and completed a term as a Policy Analyst at the Trade-marks and Copyright Branch of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. In this role, Mahdi assisted policy makers with legislative amendments to the Trade-marks Act.

    Successfully represented a director and fifty-percent shareholder in a claim for oppression and the commencement of a derivative action.

  • Wallace v. Bedford, 2019 ONSC 6756 -

    Successfully represented an owner of a residential property in resisting a certificate of pending litigation.

  • Roni Excavating v. Plus Development Group Corp., 2018 ONSC 7242 -

    Represented a developer in a construction lien claim.
