Mahdi is an associate in the firm's Insurance Litigation Group. He has a broad and growing practice in commercial litigation, including but not limited to, cross-border, real estate and property, international and domestic sales of goods, civil fraud, trade-marks opposition, domain name protection, and franchise litigation.

Mahdi has previous experience representing condominium developers in construction disputes, shareholders with oppression claims, and has provided regulatory advice to institutions regarding privacy law and cyber security matters. Mahdi has also acted for plaintiffs in enforcing significant judgments and unravelling fraudulent conveyances.

While completing his law degree, Mahdi participated in the Intellectual Property Clinic at Osgoode Hall Law School, and completed a term as a policy analyst at the Trade-marks and Copyright Branch of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. During his tenure, Mahdi assisted policy makers with legislative amendments to the Trade-marks Act.

    Successfully represented a director and fifty-percent shareholder in a claim for oppression and the commencement of a derivative action.

    Represented a developer in a construction lien claim.

  • Wallace v. Bedford, 2019 ONSC 6756 -

    Successfully represented an owner of a residential property in resisting a certificate of pending litigation.
