Dr. Gary Srebrolow is a Partner in the firm. He chairs the Health Law Group and is a member of the Insurance Litigation Group.  Prior to his legal career, Gary was a practising dentist for several years. his background in dentistry and science allows him to bring a unique medical-dental perspective to his law practice.

As a member of the Insurance Litigation Group, Gary defends governmental bodies, police forces, corporations and individuals in personal injury, medical malpractice and general litigation claims. His background assists him in understanding complex medical issues involved in these cases.

His practice also includes defending health professionals and clinics in professional liability (malpractice) claims and in this regarde he has defended dentists, physiotherapists, naturopaths, optometrists, pharmacists, chiropractors and other health professionals, as well as their respective clinics.

Gary’s health law practice also includes working on behalf of health professionals in professional regulation matters, such as College registrations and appeals, complaints, investigations, discipline, fitness to practice, quality assurance matters, hospital privilege and performance issues, and appeals of OHIP billing matters. He also provides advice to health care professionals on practice related issues, such as privacy, consent and compliance with College guidelines, and professional standards.

A particular area of interest is assisting foreign physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals in obtaining a Certificate to practice their profession in Ontario (and elsewhere across Canada).

Gary also provides advice to doctors, dentists and other health care professionals on the business side of health law for such matters as practice agreements (associate, partnership, cost sharing and consultant), professional corporations and office start up issues (purchase, sale, leasing and construction). Another facet of Gary’s health law practice involves providing turnkey legal advice for health care professionals interested in establishing innovative and specialized health care centres, such as executive medical clinics, cosmetic medical centres, surgical centres and professional-public ventures.

Gary has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and has also represented clients before many of the Regulated Health Professional Colleges and tribunals, including the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, College of Nurses of Ontario, College of Chiropractors of Ontario, Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and Health Services Appeal and Review Board.
