We are recruiting a Billing and Collections Manager to join our Finance/Accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing entire billing and accounts receivable cycle
  • Managing billing process and the team of Billing Coordinators
  • Resolving complex billing issues
  • Coordinating with Lawyers and Legal Assistants on matters related to their billings
  • Ensuring accurate and timely invoices submission
  • Ensuring compliance with firm’s billing policies
  • Compiling billing data and metrics into billing reports
  • Ensuring prompt payment collections
  • Managing collections process and the team of Collection Coordinators
  • Coordinating with clients on escalated client issues, billed amounts and receivables
  • Following up with clients for payments, including sending payment reminders
  • Monitoring and reporting overdue accounts and short payments
  • Supporting the Accounting team on clarifications related to amounts collected against various bills
  • Compiling collections data, trends and metrics into collections reports
  • Supervise, mentor and train billing and collections staff and monitor their work
  • Setting performance goals for billing and collections teams/coordinators
  • Review and implement improvements in billing and collections processes to enhance accuracy and speed
  • Coordinating with IT and Senior Manager to streamline processes

Qualifications:

  • Professional designation in accounting or finance an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role, leading a team of finance professionals
  • Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
