We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing and analyzing key financial processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing actionable insights to drive the firm’s financial performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a solid understanding of accounting practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bank Account Reconciliation: Oversee the monthly reconciliation process for both the Trust and General bank accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Month-End Reporting: Lead the preparation of month-end journal entries across multiple entities, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Intercompany & Asset Reconciliations: Perform detailed reconciliations of intercompany transactions, fixed asset accounts, and prepaid expense schedules, ensuring alignment with financial records.
- E-billing & Timekeeper Management: Maintain precise timekeeper records and update billing rates within the e-billing and accounting systems.
- Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of financial analysis and documentation required for annual audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure all trust account activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements within the industry.
- Budget & Variance Analysis: Contribute to the development of the firm’s annual budget and conduct monthly variance analyses to assess performance against financial goals.
- Profitability Analysis: Conduct profitability assessments across various levels of the firm, including firm-wide, departmental, and client-specific analyses, and provide insights for improving financial outcomes.
- Cash Flow & Financial Reporting: Analyze cash flow trends and maintain up-to-date reports on collections, partner capital, and expense schedules.
- Collaboration with HR: Work closely with the Human Resources team to manage RRSP uploads and ensure accurate processing of related financial transactions.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and enhance financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Support additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance or Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a financial analyst or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with accounting software and e-billing platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and generate actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- CPA designation or working toward certification is a plus.
