We are currently recruiting for an experienced Real Estate Legal Assistant.

Position Overview:

  • Solid knowledge of Real Estate including Commercial Lending
  • Understanding of Bank commitment letters and identifying terms for document preparation and funding
  • Experience searching title, reading Parcel Pins with knowledge of search and instruments. Can read searches and identify title issues, encumbrances etc. to bring to lawyer’s attention
  • Preparation of all Teraview documentation and registration. Thorough knowledge of Teraview system and documents
  • Knowledge of title insurance and specifically First Canadian Title insurance
  • Due diligence expertise
  • Preparation of documentation and letters regarding commercial real estate lending, including electronic registration documentation and all security documents for review by the lawyer

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the legal industry
  • Team-player attitude with strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multi-task and manage your time in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong working knowledge of all accounting and billing procedures
  • Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma an asset

This position is currently hybrid with the first 6 weeks being on-site full-time. After that point, the hybrid policy will apply with 3 days in-office scheduled per week. This position may transition to a full-time on-site role.
