Larry Reimer
 Overview

Regularly sought out by corporate bodies and insurers to handle and defuse complex and sensitive disputes, Larry Reimer is one of Blaney McMurtry’s rising partners. Concentrating in areas of challenging property, casualty and commercial litigation, Larry has particular expertise in sports law, product liability, construction claims, and sensitive matters involving public and private associations.

With over 20 years of litigation experience before all levels of Ontario courts and the Federal Court of Appeal, respected by his peers, trusted and demanded by clients, Larry has a unique ability to grasp the most intricate problems, identify and simplify issues, and persuade opponents and courts alike. Larry has successfully tried a significant range of cases including those relating to personal injury, product liability, occupiers' liability, real estate, governmental liability, police conduct, breach of contract, civil conspiracy, and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He further regularly handles claims relating to environmental contamination, industrial accidents, fire loss, and E&O.

Larry is the Chair of the Blaneys Evolve Committee, an internal team focused on Process Improvement and Project Management initiatives. He is currently a member of the firm’s Cyber Risk committee. Larry has also served on Blaney McMurtry’s Executive Committee, and as Chair of the firm’s Insurance Practice Group.

Larry plays a unique and important role in the firm’s two insurance affiliations by serving as Blaney McMurtry’s contact partner for both the Risk Management Counsel of Canada (RMC) network as well as the Insurance Law Global (ILG) network. In this role he works to connect our clients to excellent firms and lawyers in other jurisdictions, to co-ordinate workflow, and to facilitate speaking engagements, seminars and other events.
