On August 3, 2010 Tammy Evans, Marc Kemerer and Filip Gavanski represented Blaney McMurtry's Real Estate/Construction/Land Development groups while participating in the Building Industry and Land Development Association's (B.I.L.D.) "Build-Blitz" in support of Habitat for Humanity Toronto.
Much of the money raised through this event will be put towards purchasing building materials for the homes that were worked on that day. The rest of the funds will be spent on materials required for future builds.
Established in 1988, Habitat for Humanity Toronto is a non-profit, non-denominational housing organization that builds simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with low-income families.
The August 4th issue of Metro includes an article by Stephen Dupuis, "Building For Humanity, one firewall at a time", that covers the Habitat for Humanity event and includes mention of Blaneys' participation.
