This workshop will be aimed at providing practical legal guidance to entrepreneurs, investors and business owners looking to start or acquire a small or medium sized business.
This workshop will include four short presentations:
- Shareholder, Partnership and Joint Venture Agreements: The main terms, considerations, and risks.
- Financing a Startup or Acquisition: The different sources of funding a business – including debt, equity, and crowdfunding – and the pros and cons of each.
- Intellectual Property: Copyrights, patents, trademarks and trade secrets – what they do (and don’t do) and how much they cost.
- Employment Laws: The basic requirements of the law, and practical considerations when negotiating the employment terms.
