Blaney McMurtry LLP has an immediate opening for an associate with 1-2 years of relevant experience to join our busy insurance litigation practice. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of insurance tort matters, including occupiers’ liability, product liability, E&O, personal injury and defence of public authorities. In addition to assisting senior counsel on files, the associate will be expected to manage an independent caseload of general insurance defence matters from intake through resolution, whether by negotiated settlement or trial.
Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical, drafting, writing and file-management skills; possess exceptional research capabilities; and exhibit the judgment and initiative required to resolve issues confidently both within and outside court proceedings. Negotiation and advocacy skills, client-service orientation and effective practice-management abilities are essential, as are strong academic credentials.
