Ilena is a second-year law student at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, she completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology (with distinction) and earned a Master of Arts in Socio-Legal Studies from York University, with her research focusing on analyzing current provincial concussion legislation.
Ilena is passionate about community involvement and giving back to others. She has organized cancer research and food drive fundraising initiatives, volunteered in organizations helping marginalized youth participate in hockey, and currently serves as Vice President of Operations for the Windsor Law Trailblazers Club, helping to amplify the voices of women in sports.
As an avid sports enthusiast with a particular passion for hockey, Ilena competed in varsity hockey at both York University and the University of Windsor, serving as Assistant Captain and being a prospect in the 2025 Professional Women's Hockey League Draft.
In her spare time, Ilena loves spending time up north, listening to true crime podcasts, reading fantasy books, and going for hikes.
