Over the last 18 months, there have been significant changes in Ontario rules and regulations that affect the wills that business-men and -women draw up and the legacies they want to leave. Most of these changes – and all of the tax changes -- come into force January 1, 2016. In this special issue of Blaneys on Business, Blaney McMurtry’s Margaret Rintoul and Ed Esposto, widely acknowledged specialists in wills and estates law, examine the changes, explain what they mean and encourage business people to review their estate plans to ensure that those plans are sensitive to the new landscape.
